Cat Hospice Care and End of Life Care
For Comfort, Dignity, and Love in Their Final Days
In all cases, the goal is for your beloved companion to spend their last days in dignity and free from pain, while enjoying simple pleasures with the ones they love.
Your veterinarian at The Cat Practice will offer detailed information on hospice care for your feline companion, including comfort options and guidance on euthanasia. Our goal is to support you with compassionate care, clear information, and resources during this difficult time.
Hospice Care
Hospice care makes no attempt to prolong life or hasten death. Instead, the focus is on keeping pets as alert and pain-free as possible, allowing them to live their remaining days in comfort, ideally in the familiarity of their own home.
Hospice Care with Euthanasia
With hospice care, euthanasia is considered only as a last resort—when it becomes clear that your cat’s illness has progressed and is causing serious, chronic pain or distress.
Euthanasia
In some cases, when a cat is suffering with little chance to relieve pain or discomfort, euthanasia may be the most humane choice. This may apply to cats that:
Have been seriously injured or experienced major trauma
Are facing a rapidly progressing illness that affects breathing, swallowing, or eating
Are unable to stand or move without distress
We’re Here for You
